Wedding bells
Reddy s the first one to bite the dust!
Strange experience.. to c ur bum pal frm kindergarden take the vows and tie the knot...
God! marriage is SO final! Somehow, it seems like I ve lost him forever ( or atleast a part of him ). Now dont get me wrong.. I was not (am not) in love with him or anything.. but he s been with me for soo long and v ve had some amazing times in school and college... Sigh!
But im happy and sad at the same time - another first experience for me in a span of 2 weekends! Im happy to c him with a very sweet woman, who seems just about right for him... n im sad cos i think he s lost forever in the holy waters of matrimony...
Well the trip - lied in office that I was not feeling well, started for Madanpalle, met up with Kaushik at Rishi Valley ( more on that later ) and then boarded an apology of a bus which hadnt seen shock absorbers in a thousand years. Jostled and shook my way to Raychoty in AP. Its a town of very modest proportions and Reddy's inlaws were staying at the very edge of it.. u could c miles and miles of plains ringed by mountains in three sides and the town stretching away on the other. Very quaint, but hot n humid during the day.
Met some old friends there and it was really nice, reminiscing with them... had loads of fun pulling each others legs and got uproariously drunk that night. Even managed to fall asleep on the floor and woke up to a beautiful mornig. Very fitting, that Reddy's special morning had a very special feel to it. (its probably that way every day there, but what do us city slickers know about clean and fresh mornings?)
Started back to Pondy after that on Lokesh's car... nice drive, with a stopover at Kanchipuram for a lunch of some goat brains, chicken biryani and eggs... Dad would shed tears of blood if he knew I ate Non Veg at Kanchi of all the places on earth!
Mom had her PhD viva today and she s got the degree! So im the child of 2 Doctors Philosophy now... Cool nah?
